My reservation was denied by the counter service at the Shiller Park, Illinois location and their customer service was not at all helpful. Their explanation surrounding their policy did not match their policy.

I left the airport without a rental, with only a refund that would take days that they were aware of and made no effort to transfer the rental to another agency. Why rent through a 3rd party site that rents to Illinois locals at all? Their policy was not made absolutely clear via the Priceline website. There is no excuse for that.

And the customer service was incredible, as if they owned the place.

The links on the receipt make no reference to their no Illinoisans policy. Very stupid and insensitive.

User's recommendation: It's off site from the airport the lot is shabby and mostly run down. they have newer cars but no working restrooms. And the counter help is terrible no service if they like you enough to rent you the car you already paid for with your credit card.

I rented a car at O'Hare Airport in Chicago from 7/29 - 8/1/2024. The agent was rude and demeaning due to my elderly status, he was very uncooperative and negative.

He refused to accept my proof of insurance and insisted on upselling me additional insurance. He argued with me about the photos of damage to my car and refused to take pictures of damage I saw but he missed. The internet access at the facility was not operating properly and I couldn't get online for additional assistance; he ignored the problem. I want the employee to be disciplined or required to get better customer relations skills.

He needs training on how to accommodate the needs of the elderly, and I want a refund for the upsold insurance. Ira Karet.

Your driver stated he couldnt take us to your rental because you were out of cars.

We reserved 2/18/24. 7/20/24 you dont have our car???

I booked my rental car via the third party picking up the car at Chicago airport . The booking was successful and prepaid with no any problem.

However, when I tried to pick up and car, the agent told me I could not have the car because my flight information (arrival and departure dates) do not match to the car rental dates! I have never heard about that and why the booking went through successfully then? The agent told me to contact the third party to either use the credit for rebook or request the refund. I rode a whole night flight but was not able to get my rental car, what was that feeling?!

I ended up rebooking through the same third party company and paid $80 more! I requested the refund PER THE ROUTES AGENT for the previous 2day booking of $151. What shocked me 2 days later by hearing from my third party that the Routes Rental Car declined to refund my Money!!! They said this is the companys policy.

What? They did not issue me a car and also do not want to refund me money?!

What kind of company is this?! Get me money back please, you trapped me!

There is more than a month that I am waiting, for my overcharge money been refund. I did pay $178.00 + $205.00+$264.05.

For a small car, car seat. I used my car own insurance. It was for 8 days only.

I have been contact them almost every day, the manage Peter never returned a single call. I had a promise that on the 29 of July, I will get my money back, today is the first, and nothing has been credit on my credit card.

Because you provided initially defective vehicle, you have responsibility to replace it asap. According to inspection with professional, the broken axel assembly in drivers side front wheel is a safety issue and affected my business trip.

Photos of the issues (as a proof) with report are sent to my company management.

User's recommendation: This review is based on my experience only. Routes Rental, located by O'Hare Chicago airport, provided defective car to me and never replaced it with good one. Plus a bunch of emails and telephone calls didn't help me in this situation to solve the problem. So my business trip was crewed up and I have to use UBER instead with additional ekspenses,I have attached few pictures of the defective car, damaged rusty front axel with no lubrication. According to those pics you can say it happened a while ago, but the management didn't provide any maintenance and inspection. This particular damage is a safety issue and the owner's responsibility. I would never deal with this company again.

Reservation and charge issue

I made a reservation through booking.com on July 1st for a car pickup on July 22nd at the Denver airport. After waiting for 40 minutes at the airport and 30 minutes at the desk, they could not find my reservation by number of 78936**** or my name.

They were requesting a confirmation with both letters and numbers which I did not have.

I attempted to reach Booking, but could only reach via email which caused an unknown delay, so decided to reserve just through you. Was told they would match price of $30 per day, but total came to $417.06 as insisted we had to take additional liability as well as other charges. Our amt through Booking.com was $203.96. I called booking.com and they were able to find the requested confirmation number which is NRLD297022.

When I called Routes customer service today they said we were a no show! Of course we were as they couldn't find our reservation.

We rented directly through you under my husband's name, Robert Mcbeath,# DEN-42172. Would like you to consider some amt of refund as was double my original amount.

We are in a foreign country with $5000 less and with no car. They never refunded the deposit, in fact instate of placing a hold for car rental they finalized the transaction 4 days later.

We will contact all possible institutions to be able to recover our money. Absolutely infuriating scam designed to take our money through deliberately deceptive practices, and they stole our deposit and the money for the next car rental (which we never got)of almost $5000 dollar.

NEVER NEVER RENT a CAR FROM AS 24 RENT SRL OTOPENI ROMANIA!!!

This was in chcago today at 6pm First off driver of shuttle was drunk. Alcohol smell everywhere.

Then the service rep put my name in wrong 3x tokd me i had no reservations made us wait for 45 min for a mangers call that never happened. Finally after getting the 3rd party to give me your reservation number my reservations were found. Upon me asking why they werent found. He said he put my name in wrong and why am i talking to himThe service rep was belligerant to me in front of everyone including my family.

I told him to to calm the *** down. They all ganged up on me and threw me out with my service dog my son and my girlfriend made me take an uber and get another rental. Your company should be embarressed by the staff working. Especially felix .

He was terrible to me and my family. I can tell from your revoews this happens quite often it quite embarrising as a company.

Routes will take your deposit in seconds and takes a month to return it!

I rented a car on July 12th and returned it on July 13th. They still haven't returned my $500 deposit and here we are August 5th.

You can't talk to anyone on the phone. They tell you to send an email and you get the same generic response from several agents. I reached out to my credit card company and they said that only Routes can release my funds. And Routes keeps telling me to contact my credit card company.

what a joke.

I will never rent with them again. Terrible customer service.

Severe and utter disappointment

I rented a car through 'Economy Booking,' No. B8560****, and Routes Car Rental, No.

BGOPD946144. After a 28-hour trip with my wife and four pieces of luggage, thinking that I had already paid all of my dues, I was slapped with extra charges almost equal to the cost of the car rental itself. I was charged $1039 for 18 days, including collision and road assistance coverages. Upon arrival, the guy at the counter said, 'But you do not have ICW.' I said OK, thinking that the rate would be similar to other companies; however, it turned out to be several-fold more.

Then to make things worse, he added a $413 'Vehicle License Fee', something I had never heard of. Being very tired and still having another three-hour drive to reach my final destination, I was really not in a position to argue nor seek other alternatives. Then, instead of reserving $395 for the deposit, they charged my card $500 without letting me know.

Saying that I am upset is an understatement. All I could tell the guy at the counter is 'you just lost a customer.' He smiled, and I was too tired to argue with anyone, but that was utterly unfair and unethical.

I booked a car with unlimited mileage, then found out there are travel limitations in Florida. There are restrictions on out-of-state travel unless approved in writing. Can you please help?

Refund on towing fees

Rented car on July 1 in Denver. Had previously booked through economy bookings and chose insurance through them at the time of the booking.

Got to counter in Denver and was charged another $45 for more insurance. Car broke down on way to Denver. Took 2hours to contact the office in Denver. Was told I had not chose tow insurance so I was responsible for getting the car back to them at my cost.

If the car failure was mechanical I would be reimbursed immediately. Left copy of tow bill with manager Roy. Have emailed and left voice mails to no avail. At this point I want the $179 they charged on an original reservation at $108.

The office in Denver Never answer the phones. Tow bill is $288.
